Two days before arrival we got a text saying “problem with chalet, we are moving you to next door”. Received photos and it looked fine.
I was told 2nd bedroom was bunkbeds which is nt great for two grown men but they were ok with this.
Got to chalet fine. Clean , tidy , fit for purpose.
On the first night three cats arrived, one being very pregnant. We like cats and we were fine feeding and fussing them. If you dont like cats
First night the top bunk broke and my friend fell out. This hurt / cut his knee and ruined his skiing for two days.
So Stefanos wife arrived with some bedding -“ oh yes my husband is not good at fixing / putting up beds. We dont have kettles in Italy, the drains always smell, the cats are ours.
Second morning someone comes from the chalet we were supposed to be in - i asked him. We booked it direct with Stefano. Must have paid more than us.
We had taken a few showers and this is horrible.
The shower filled up with water and you could nt shower for more than two minutes.
I texted Stefano - no reply - so i got some drain cleaner / unblocker which worked. But the shower is full of mould and paint peeling. Not good.
The bedroom have no doors, so no privacy and the bathroom door squeaks, so if you need the loo during the night, everyone wakes up.
We are easy going but the problems just added up.
On the third day we woke up to cats noise and watched / helped the pregnant cat give birth to four kittens. She must have trusted us and this was a great moment for us to be part of.
Several texts to the ghost that is Stefano and reply just saying put cats in the cellar room.
We did nt and left them in the lounge.
After a while we got text saying can his daughter go into chalet to LOOK. Yes of course i said.
When we got home, they were gone. We were a bit put out but thought he must have taken them home.
The next day the mother cat came to our chalet and stayed all day and then for the next two days. No mother cat leaves her kittens of two days old.
So she rejected them maybe but we saw her with them and she was a loving mother, we are convinced they were killed.
I mentioned by text every issue we had and then the fourth day the heating / water was cold.
The text reply was i will come before 09:30 or after 16;00 to sort out and chat about everything. No Stefano appeared and no apology for any of our issues.
We spent the next two days, skiing, having fun and feeding cats.
Overall a terrible host, not a good chalet.
